I specialize in working with couples facing relationship challenges, particularly when emotional attachment, intimacy, and sexuality have become disconnected. As the founder of The Couples Project, I bring more than 30 years of experience helping couples and families understand difficult relationship patterns, repair disconnection, and build stronger, more fulfilling relationships.

I am a dual-licensed clinician (LMFT and LMHC) and an AASECT Certified Sex Therapist. My approach combines extensive clinical experience with specialized expertise in couples and sex therapy, while remaining compassionate, practical, and deeply focused on the unique needs of each relationship. Beyond my clinical practice, I have worked to make healthcare more relationship-focused by developing and leading family therapy training and research programs across Massachusetts, Delaware, and Maryland.

Underlying all of my work is a deep belief in our capacity for healing, growth, and change. Seeking help for a relationship is not a concession or a sign of failure. It is an act of strength, and often the first step toward creating the relationship you want to have.

How I Work

Attachment and sexuality are deeply intertwined. How safe and connected you feel with each other shapes what is possible between you sexually, and what happens sexually feeds directly back into your sense of closeness and security. I work with both at the same time because addressing one while leaving the other untouched can keep couples stuck.

My approach is strength-based, focused, and collaborative, with genuine curiosity and humor at the center of the work. I’m not interested in therapy that spends years circling the same problems without creating meaningful change. I want us to understand what is happening between you, why it keeps happening, and what needs to change.

More than thirty years of clinical work has taught me that when couples are willing to look honestly at the deeper patterns shaping their relationship, meaningful change can often happen sooner than they expect. My role is to help you recognize those patterns, interrupt what is no longer working, and build new ways of connecting—emotionally, relationally, and sexually.
